Desktop Macintosh

A small Mac. A familiar smile.

A dimensional miniature Macintosh with a monochrome dashboard for time, music, weather, and system information.

Desktop Macintosh native rendered object

Native preview exports with QA fixture data. The Lab switches between these exports; it does not read your system.

What it does.

A miniature Macintosh sits above the wallpaper and turns everyday information into a small desktop companion. Its enclosure and curved CRT are built with SceneKit geometry; the display updates when the information changes.

Five screen modes

Choose Home, Time, Music, Weather, or System. Each screen also adapts to the selected object size.

Native desktop behavior

Passive click-through mode, a dedicated movement mode, saved position, and recovery when a display disappears.

Practical information

Open-Meteo supplies weather for a manually selected location. Spotify and Music notifications supply supported track information.

Render on demand

The SceneKit renderer updates the desktop object when its display changes, rather than running a continuous game loop.
