What it does.
Slate explores how much of a practical image-editing workflow can live in a browser. It builds on miniPaint with a modular command, geometry, persistence, and interaction layer, while keeping the document close to the user.
Work in layers
Arrange image, text, and shape layers, transform them, and keep locked layers protected.
Select and refine
Use selection tools and layer masks, with adjustment rendering that preserves source image data.
Save the working document
Project serialization keeps layer details, masks, and adjustments. Browser storage supports autosave and recovery.
Export the result
Flatten an image for export or preserve an editable project. Undo and redo are part of the command workflow.
